Positive Power Overview – Part Four

Marcella Bremer Positive Power Leave a Comment

Here’s the overview of the fourth part of my book/blog: “Positive Power at Work – How to make a positive difference from any position.”

Are you able, willing and ready to be a Positive Agent? You can make a positive difference from any position, without needing permission or resources from others. This blog will help you see positive possibilities and (re)claim your positive agency. Unstuck yourself and engage others with your interaction and actions. Transform into a positive organization where people and performance thrive.

After having focused on “me”, this second part of the Personal Positive Power posts was about your interactions with others.

We explored ways to connect and build a relationship with respect for others, using positive inquiry, compassion, as well as having difficult conversations and asserting yourself. We practiced to see the best selves of others and to ask questions.

Positive Power Overview of Posts, Part 4

Start of Part 4

We’re at the level YOU after we’ve prepared ourselves to be positive at the level ME.

Positive Communication

Even greetings in emails influence an organization’s climate. What could you do better?

Are you congruent?

Is your communication congruent? Check if your what-how-why align.

Silence, violence, or flow?

What kind of interactions is taking place around you?

The art of asking

When you ask a question, do you listen for new information or do you want your opinions confirmed?

What do you ask?

A question influences what people think and learn about. Here’s a short reminder for all of us.

Possibility-oriented questions

Possibility-oriented questions can do magic! The only thing you need to do is ask them…

Train your listening skills

What’s your favorite way to train your listening skills?

Is it safe or are there monsters?

How do you make conversations safe while also addressing monsters?

How to address monsters?

Being open, calm, and accepting is a first step. Check out what you can do.

How do you respond to gossip?

What would your “best possible self” do?

How to respond to politics at work?

It may not be easy but it is necessary to contribute to more positive workplaces!

How do you respond to negativity?

How to respond to intimidation, bullying, unreasonable negative feedback, harsh criticism or vague threats?

Are you afraid of feedback?

Let’s reflect on how we can make the best of it.

Do you take it personally?

Every time that you feel triggered about something, remember to not take it personally.

Positive Feedback

Can you bring your positive to negative ratio to 3:1?

Be the Positive Change you wish to see at work
